About
Lynn Wenger
Lynn Wenger grew up on a hog farm in Iowa but pursued a different path, earning a degree in construction engineering. His career in project management required extensive writing, letters, contracts, and change orders, while frequent travel meant he always had a book in hand.
At 29, Lynn met the love of his life when she walked into a friend’s party. A year later, they were married.
At 38, he witnessed his father’s untiring devotion as a caregiver when his mother suffered a massive stroke. For 16 years, his father cared for her at home, living out his wedding vows. This example of love and resilience carried Lynn through his own journey of tending to his Wendy.
Encouraged by a nurse who cared for his wife, Lynn decided to write this book, a deeply personal account of love, loss, and devotion. His daily journal and the understanding of those closest to his wife encouraged him to keep going.
It was not easy for him to revisit the painful final days while editing, reliving them with each revision. However, through his writing, Lynn honors the strength of those who care for their loved ones, offering a story that is heart-wrenching and deeply human.
