Love is meant to last a lifetime, but what happens when the person you cherish slowly fades away, forgetting the life you built together? A Husband’s Memoir: A Journey Through Alzheimer’s is a deeply personal account of Lynn Wenger’s six-year journey caring for his wife, Wendy, as she battled Alzheimer’s disease. More than just a story of loss, it is a testimony to devotion, resilience, and the meaning of true love.

Wendy was diagnosed at just 59 years old, and as the disease progressed, Lynn took on the role of her primary caregiver. He stood by her through every challenge, honoring the vows they made to each other—for better or worse, in sickness and in health, till death do us part. This memoir captures the heartbreak and the unfaltering love that carried them through the difficult years.

Lynn wrote this book to share Wendy’s story and offer guidance and support to caregivers, families, and friends facing the devastating realities of dementia. Encouraged by those who witnessed his journey, he hopes to provide insight into what to expect, questions to ask, and how to manage the emotional toll of caregiving.

Since Wendy’s passing on January 6th, 2024, memories of their life together keep resurfacing, reminding Lynn of the battles they fought and the love they shared. By putting these memories into words, he seeks to honor Wendy and help others walking the same difficult road.
Heartfelt and honest, A Husband’s Memoir: A Journey Through Alzheimer’s is a story of love, commitment, and the courage to say goodbye while holding on to everything that truly matters.
